Institute of Driving & Traffic Research (IDTR)

With the launch of IDTRs, Maruti Suzuki introduced world class driving training facilities to India. These include a specially formulated multi-lingual theory curriculum, scientifically laid-out driving tracks and advanced driving simulators that replicate Indian driving conditions.

Our first IDTR at Loni, on the outskirts of Delhi, was set up in 2000 in collaboration with the Delhi government. The IDTR network has now expanded to two in New Delhi (Loni and Sarai Kale Khan), two in Haryana (Rohtak and Bahadurgarh), one in Gujarat (Vadodara) and one in Uttarakhand (Dehradun).

The IDTR set up in 2010-11 in Gujarat, in collaboration with the Tribal Development Department of Gujarat, works in a focused manner to develop the driving skills of tribal youth. This IDTR also offers automobile technical training to this youth to strengthen their employability.

We have a state-of-the-art driving simulator which gets a good response from the people who learn. Overall, I think that the IDTR is doing great service to the society.

I feel very comfortable teaching very experienced drivers at the IDTR. Though this profession is not very common for women to take up, I am enjoying my job.
